THE GREAT WAR

A visit to your school from an First World War soldier. A soldier from the Great War will visit your class to run a workshop to teach your children and help them learn about life in the trenches. We will use artefacts, drama, roleplay, dressing up and storytelling to bring history to life!

TOPICS INCLUDE:

  • How the Great War began;

  • How soldiers were trained and equipped;

  • The songs they sang;

  • The terrors of trench life ;

  • Technological advances;

  • Useful phrases in French and German;

  • The Suffragettes;

  • The Christmas Truce;
